As sustainability is more and more concerned, many customers are asking if Hikingtex can provide functional & sustainable yarns. So functional & GRS recycled polyester yarn from Hikingtex will be introduced in this article.

1. Hakuu-Poly

Yarn Features

1). Moisture wicking

The cruciform cross-section can increase surface area and create micro-channels, so fabric with Hakuu-Poly yarns can transport moisture away from the body to keep wearers cool and dry on hot days.

2). Cool feeling

With nano-sized jade in Hakuu-Poly fiber, the heat conductivity of Hakuu-Polyyarns is well increased and fabrics with Hakuu-Poly yarns can get the fabulous cool feeling.


3). Anti-Ultraviolet
Ultraviolet can not only cause aging but also increase the risks of skin cancer. With nano-sized jade, UPF of fabrics with Hakuu-Poly yarns can reach 50+.
4). Heat blocking
The nano-sized jade in Hakuu-Poly yarns can reflect infrared rays and insulate heat from the human body.
5). Anti-showing through
Fiber transparency is reduced with nano-sized jade in Hakuu-Poly, so it can help to improve showing through problems of garments, especially light garments for summer.
2. Hakuu-Nylon

1). Moisture wicking

With profiled cross-section, fabrics with Hakuu-Nylon yarns can remove moisture from the body

to keep wearers cool and dry on hot days.

2). Cool feeling

The heat conductivity of Hakuu-Nylon fabrics is well increased with nano-sized natural

mineral powder embedded, so it offers great Qmax cooling value.

With functional nano-sized functional particles, Hakuu-Nylon can increase heat

conductivity and brings fantastic cooling touch while touching skin.

3). Anti-Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet can not only cause aging but also increase the risks of skin cancer.

With the nano-sized mineral powder, the UPF of fabrics with Hakuu-Nylon yarns can reach 50+.

3. WooFit-Poly

Thermal and heating yarns, also called thermo-generating yarns, far infrared yarns.

1). Heating
Nano-sized coffee charcoal is put in WooFit-Poly fiber, so fabrics with WooFit-Polyyarns can release far infrared rays to generate heat to the body, expanding capillaries to improve blood circulation and accelerating metabolism.
2). Thermal
WooFit-Poly
 fiber has a hollow structure, which can contain isolated air, maintain body temperature, and isolate cold air outside.
3). Light
The hollow structure makes fiber weight very light, which can make human body exercise freely.

4. TechNa-Poly

1). Anti-bacterial

Bacteria are negatively-charged and Zinc ions are positively-charged, so Zinc will be absorbed on the surface of bacteria, then the electrolyte balance of bacteria is broken, finally bacteria will die due to cell walls’ damage. Herbal extractant with rich Zinc is put in fiber permanently to grant anti-bacterial function.

2). Moisture Wicking

With profiled cross-section, TechNa-Poly yarns can transport moisture away from the body to keep wearers cool and dry on hot days.

3). Safety

The Zinc is put in cotton through a displacement reaction, it won’t drop from the surface of fabric.

4). Deodorization

Zinc can remove body odor and keep skin clean.

5. TechNa-Nylon

TechNa-Nylon combines nylon and marine organism extractant with rich Zinc, is an anti-bacterial nylon yarn.

1). Anti-bacterial & Anti-virus

Bacteria are negatively-charged and Zinc ions are positively-charged, so Zinc will be absorbed on the surface of bacteria, then the electrolyte balance of bacteria is broken, finally bacteria will die due to cell walls’ damage.

TechNa-Nylon can inhibit escherichia coli, candida albicans and staphylococcus aureus effectively.

The Zinc is put in cotton through a displacement reaction, it won’t drop from the surface of fabric.

6. Aerogel Yarn

Thermal, Heat Insulation and Light Weight

What is Aerogel?

Aerogels are a class of synthetic porous ultralight material derived from a gel, in which the liquid component for the gel has been replaced with a gas, without significant collapse of the gel structure, which results in a solid with extremely low density and extremely low thermal conductivity.

After years’ efforts, Hikingtex succeeds to get aerogel muster batch and produce aerogel yarn.


Thermal and Heat Insulation:

Air itself is a poor thermal conductor, but it can still transfer heat by convection. However, in aerogel, the narrow space in the nanostructure hinders air molecules from moving freely and effectively, and hence prevents convection of the air trapped inside, which enables aerogel to be an even better thermal insulator than air, its thermal conductivity is as low as 0.013W/m∙K.

Light weight:

Aerogels have a porous structure and contain a high percentage of air (>95%), which results in their extremely low density (the lowest aerogel can be 0.16 mg/cm3).
